So many times I have been asked why I can 50 jars of berry syrup or what the heck is that alien (i.e. kohrabi) vegetable. I share how to can pickles and green beans, how to make a salad that is divine, how to roast a whole chicken to become four meals and why organic is good and GMO is bad. I found that people really want to know this information, and I love to rant and rave, therefore, the world of blogging sounds pretty good way to meet both needs!

I began a facebook page http://www.facebook.com/preservingtheharvestbythebook as a way of sharing current, tested, safe methods of preserving foods through canning, freezing and dehydrating. It soon blossomed bigger then I thought it would and we added a groups page. Several people have recommended blogging so that recipes and pictures are easy to find. So, I did!
